How to use the My VideoDoctor player

My VideoDoctor enables you to check your symptoms online, guided by the doctors from Diagnosis Live from the Clinic. Created in partnership with NHS Direct, you will be able to assess your health concern and receive personalised advice.

Using My VideoDoctor couldn’t be easier. Dr Pixie, Dr Dawn or Dr Christian will guide you through a series of questions, and you answer every question using the clickable options that appear on the right hand side of the screen.

Every time you answer a question, a new video clip will start playing that is relevant to the answer you gave. Just answer all the questions and the doctor will give you feedback on the recommended next steps. This could be advice such as “please go and visit your GP” or “ring NHS Direct for a more in-depth consultation”.

Where relevant My VideoDoctor will also provide you with some information from the NHS on how you can look after yourself safely. This will appear as an option on screen labelled “Go to care advice: allergic reactions”, for example. Where appropriate we will also provide you with links to other NHS websites – again just click on the options that appear on screen to follow the links.

You can pause and rewind the clips and can jump back through clips to alter answers you may have given incorrectly. You can also start again from the beginning.
